Jargon to Translation Group 6 Project

Objective :

Read: your assigned article.

Plan: a new non-scientist audience, from the following list:

Middle school students taking the state science test

A team of backup dancers concerned about health

High school students volunteering at a local hospital

Camp counselors who will be responsible for students

Parents who have to help their high school students study for an AP test

Discuss: What would these people find interesting/useful? Why should they care? What do they need to know? What language is most accessible for them? What examples may make the material clearer?

Write: a summary of the article for the planned audience.

Group 6 Main Idea:
Considering the inherent limitations of our human minds and the skepticism shared by scientists and philosophers, it is improbable that we will uncover answers to the countless questions of the universe, commonly referred to as “mysteries” by Noam Chomsky. The objective of this document is to explore these cognitive constraints that hinder our understanding and equip us with the means to navigate them. Some of these limitations can be directly observed, while others may only be perceived or inferred.
